- Summary:
-
"There are at least three features of the policy environment in Australia that have led to an interest in the cost of homelessness met by service system budgetary expenditures and the broad cost of homelessness to society through lost productivity and reduced social cohesion... It is against this background that we reviewed a broad range of approaches in the literature and assessed the state of knowledge about the costs of homeless and benefits of its amelioration, by using a matrix that recognises three types of costs/benefits and four areas (domains) of social and economic life." -- p. 1, 3.
