Paul Wild describes his career and achievements in radio astronomy, and as Chairperson of CSIRO, 1978-1985. He speaks of his childhood in England, studying mathematics and physics for five terms at Cambridge before joining the Navy in 1943; serving on the King George V; work with CSIRO's Division of Radiophysics; solar research; design of the radioheliograph at Culgoora; the Interscan project; the Anglo-Australian Telescope Board; VFT project; his awards; views on science education and communication; science and state.
