They record Harrison's long and distinguished career as a minister of the Presbyterian church. Correspondents include Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, Viscount and Viscountess Slim, Sir Robert and Dame Pattie Menzies and Elsie Curtin, wife of John Curtin.

Rev. Hector Harrison was minister at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Forrest, ACT, from 1940-1978. He was Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of New South Wales, 1950-1951 and Moderator-General of Presbyterian Church of Australia, 1962-1964.
