Rev. Crook was a missionary sent by the London Missionary Society to the South Seas in 1797-8. He founded the first Congregational church in Sydney in 1810 and was involved in Captain Collin's failed attempt to create the first settlement in Victoria at Sorrento.

- "In memory of the Rev. William Pascoe Crook, a zealous and devoted missionary by the Marquesas and Society Islands and a faithful preacher of the gospel in N.S.Wales. Born in Devonshire engld. on the 29th April 1775. Died at Melbourne on the 14th June 1846. He was one of the first misionaries who left England in the ship Duff in the year 1796" --on headstone.
