Pugh, a retired nurse, was born 1919 in London, England. She recalls starting a nursing course; coming to Australia for a working holiday in 1952; starting work at King George V Hospital; nursing in Sydney; arrival at Darlington Point in 1962; life in Darlington Point in the 1960's; her role as a bush nurse, salaries and working conditions; ambulance service and hospital in Griffith (N.S.W.); nursing duties; Bush Nursing Association of N.S.W.; Rob lists bush nursing posts around N.S.W.; managing the operation of the service; the Aboriginal community at Darlington Point; involvement in other community activities - Red Cross; fun activities in the town - balls, concerts, plays.
