Knox speaks of her thirty-one years as Principal of the Presbyterian Ladies College, Pymble; she describes her childhood and family, her school days in Grassmere and the effect of WWI on her life; her university studies; working in France at various jobs; the enforced new way of life during the Depression; her return to Australia and the economic troubles she observed; she describes her work and working conditions while at the college in Pymble and this period of turmoil as far as education was concerned.
