Australian born author who travelled the world from a young age and spent many years in the Pacific Islands. In 1892 while residing in Australia he was unable to find regular work so turned to writing. He was very successful as a writer of short stories and novels and was published in 'The Bulletin'. In all he wrote 34 books.
