Summary

Mary Noelker (nee Gibbs), teacher at Faraday State School and kidnap victim, recounts the events of the Faraday kidnapping, subsequent trial and media attention and their effect on her life.

Biography/History

On 6 October 1972 Mary Gibbs was teaching at Faraday School, Victoria, when she and six pupils were kidnapped by Robert Boland and Edwin Eastwood. She and the children escaped on 7 October and Boland and Eastwood were arrested soon after.
