Wood, a non-Indigenous senior Commonwealth public servant in the Dept. of Aboriginal Affairs in the 1970s, speaks about his father Rev. Pat Wood who was a Presbyterian minister. His father was the Chairman of the Presbyterian Board of Missions from the mid-1960s and this body had oversight of all Presbyterian Aboriginal missions in Australia. Wood discusses his father's work with the Board and his mother's work with the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union. He also recalls his parents' views on Aboriginal people and his father's later position as Presbyterian Moderator-General in Australia, 1974-77.
