Correspondence between A. D. Hope and Natalie Staples and working notes of a number of translations of Russian poems. These include "Mokraya Kuritsa", "The musicians", "The grandee and the philosopher", "Mopsa and the elephant" and "The oracle!" The collection also includes eight letters written by Rosemary Dobson to Staples (1972-73, 1981) relating to their work on the Russian poetry, and a copy of Dobson's article 'A poet's response'. There is also a card from David Campbell. Further papers relating to Natalie's work with Rosemary Dobson form part of Rosemary Dobson's own papers located at MS 4955.

Natalie Staples, translator of Russian, who worked with Rosemary Dobson in translating poetry for two volumes of Russian poetry, "Moscow trefoil" (1975) and "Seven Russian poets" (1979). Staples also did similar translation work for A.D. Hope.
