Livesey, a fighter pilot who served in Malaya and Singapore for the 453rd Squadron, R.A.A.F., when the Japanese attacked in December 1941, speaks about his experiences in that squadron such as its first job which was to provide air cover for the "Prince of Wales" and "Repulse" which were bombed and destroyed by Japanese aircraft. Livesy talks about his squadron's evacuation from Singapore after it fell to the Japanese and how his life was saved by Sir John McCaully. Livesey gives his opinion on RAF intelligence reports at the time that Japan entered the war in particular their aircraft and he discusses their tactics in battle. He also talks about the various air bases and the accommodation provided. He reads from an eye witness account of the strength of the Japanese army's aircraft written by a member of 453 squadron's ground crew in regard to the days of fighting in Kuala Lumpur between Japanese and RAF.
