Chan Liu Lee, a marine biologist, Senior Lecturer, Northern Territory University and Chinese migrant, talks about his childhood in Malaysia; his early interest in fish; coming to Australia to further his education; studying zoology and comparative physiology at Monash University; his return to Malaysia in 1968 to work for the Tropical Fish Culture Research Institute in Malacca; by 1973 he was appointed as Officer-in-Charge of the Institute, he left in 1976 to do his PhD in Queensland; he then talks about working in the Northern Territory, in particular with the Aboriginal people at King Sound; the various projects he has been involved in; his plans for the future.
