De Jong speaks about her childhood in Wagga Wagga, N.S.W. and her marriage in 1962. She and her husband adopted three children and had five children of their own. One of the children they adopted was an Aboriginal boy, and De Jong describes the adoption process. She also talks about the family background of her adopted son, the prejudice he encountered as teenager and adult, his reunion with his family, and his current situation.
