Journal of Lieutenant John Wedgeborough addressed to his aunt in England, covering the activities of the expedition to, and survey of the Pelew Islands, 1792-1794. The enclosed typescript relates the most important incidents of the expedition, including Captain McCluer's decision to forfeit his command and remain with the natives of the Islands. The private and domestic affairs of Lieutenant Wedgeborough are revealed through his letters. Notice re journal is included in the front of the journal. Reference is made to the joining of their route to that of Captain Cooks; 21st December 1792, after he had passed Cape Walsh.
