Russell James "Boomy" Hegarty, Indigenous ringbarker, park ranger and drug counsellor, was fostered by a relative, following the death of his mother. He speaks about his childhood on Cherbourg Anglican Mission, Qld. At the age of 15, he left Cherbourg to work. He talks about his working life and his return to Cherbourg at the age of 40. Hegarty also discusses his work with the Wunjuda Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre and his efforts to reunite with his father's family on Bentinck Island.
