Both Jack and Jean Horner participate in the interview with firstly Jack Horner talking about his family background, education at Sydney Boys' High and then East Sydney Technical College to do art, followed by Jean providing details of her family and then her experiences studying painting also at East Sydney Technical College. Jack then talks about being called up in 1943; first contact with religion and church services and his war experiences. After WWII he returned to Tech through the Commonwealth Reconstruction Training Scheme. In 1950 Jack and Jean went to England and found work designing and building scenery for theatre productions. They returned to Australia in 1953 and Jack started working with the Law Book Co.
