- Summary:

Peter Thompson starts by giving a brief resume on the fate of the Tasmanian Tiger since European settlement of Tasmania. He then interviews Bob Brown, who describes what action has been taken by the National Parks and Wildlife Service of Tasmania, to determine whether or not the Tiger is still alive. He also gives what he feels to be the reason for the reluctance of government bodies to give financial help in the search for the Tiger and gives the results of the most recent search to find the animal, a search which he helped to co-ordinate. Peter Thompson then interviews Wilf Battie, the man who shot the last known Tasmanian Tiger in the wild on May 13th, 1930. Mr Battie starts by recalling his first encounter with the Thylacine, describing the sort of sound it made and speaking about the events that lead up to his shooting of the animal. Peter Thompson then talks again to Bob Brown, who describes the recent sighting that seemed to him to be conclusive evidence that the Tiger is not extinct. He also speaks about the area where any major new search would be centered and details what would be done if the animal was found alive.
