Janne D. Graham, born 1938, Willoughby, N.S.W. Graham speaks about her family background and her decision to do welfare work. She describes her work with the New South Wales Child Welfare Department, mainly dealing with child neglect and truancy. She discusses the lack of guidelines and case management systems, and the child removal, fostering and adoption processes. Graham transferred to Canberra from 1962 to 1965. She was later appointed as Western Australia's first female parole officer.
