Douglas talks about her family background; childhood memories; early interest in drawing and winning a scholarship to do art at East Sydney Tech in 1939. She then talks about her decision to take up pottery; impact of WWII; teaching at Abbotsleigh; setting up her first studio; first kiln and selling her work. Douglas then talks about the first exhibition of her work at David Jones, Sydney in 1948. She then discusses changes seen in the teaching methods for craft work and the formation of the Potters Society and the availability of materials such as glazes and clay. Douglas then describes her experiences as the 1st Australian representative at the 1st World Congress of Craftsmen in New York, 1964. She then describes the different galleries established by the Potters Society.
