Rv. Richard Johnson, "Australia's first preacher", sailed in the 'Golden Grove', a store ship of the First Fleet.

"An extremely rare book printed in Englind for the author to distrbute in the colony amongst those to whom he could not minister owing to the growth and spread of the settlement."

Library's NK386 copy fully bound in red morocco with gilt decorations; bears the bookplate of Rex de C. Nan Kivell (no. 1794/2); title page inscribed in ink, "Ac D. Parish".

Library's FRM F187 (Petherick) copy half bound in leather with marbled boards; title page inscribed in ink "[JS?] Cotton".

Library's FRM F187 copy fully bound in brown morocco with gilt decorations, marbled endpapers and speckled edges; verso of title pages inscribed in pencil: "The author of this address became afterwds Rector of St Antholin London and died ? in 1827 aged 82".
