Summary

The Very Old Series' consists of miscellaneous correspondence of the Secretary-at-War's office to 1827 and the'Old Series' from 1827-1857. Selected items are concerned with the New Zealand Corps of enrolled Pensioners 1846, conditions of discharge for soldiers wishing to settle in Australia and New Zealand and provision of house and land for such settlers.
