Born 9 October 1903, Thornaby-on-Tees, Yorkshire, England; emigrated to Australia in 1924 and came to Canberra in 1926 and stayed until November 1927 when he returned to England. He came back to Australia in 1947 and lived in Mitcham, S. Aust.
