Prof. Zillman, meteorologist and oceanographer, from 1987-1995 has served as First Vice President and as President of the World Meteorological Organization since 1995. As Commonwealth Director of Meteorology, Prof. Zillman serves on Australia's Commonwealth-State Standing Committees on Natural Resource Manangement, Primary Industries and Environment Protection and Heritage. In 1999 he was appointed as a Professorial Fellow in the School of Earth Sciences of Melbourne University.
