Autobiographical recording commencing with a detailed account of his childhood in England and his education at King's School, Worcester, Selwyn College, Cambridge with his early life in the industrial parishes of Tyne Dock, Leeds and Sunderland and his mission work in New Guinea. He speaks at length of the invasion by the Japanese during World War II, of Hubert Murray and Colonel J.K. Murray, of the Mt. Lamington eruption in 1941 and of the educational work which formed such a large part of the mission's responsibilities.
