Pattinson, a nurse and writer, talks about her early childhood; WWII experiences; coming to Australia when 20 and working with a Netherlands intelligence unit in Sydney; her early writing career; marriage and widowhood in 1949; taking up a career in nursing; her nursing experiences which included bush nursing; writing an advice column for "New Idea" on childcare and being offered a 4-year scholarship in USA to study the program of the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential; her work as a romance novelist with Horwitz and discusses in some detail the work of the Institute; her first visit to Java when 6 and provides more detail about her romance novels and scriptwriting for Crawford Productions. She then talks about Katherine Falk, Barbara Cartland, Dick Francis and her brief involvement with the now defunct "Man" magazine; the writing of historical novels, work in progress and her hobby farm.
