Summary

Copies of letters exchanged between Charles W. Wren and Andrew Fisher in May 1912; they relate to Fisher's invitation to Wren to become the first Governor of the Commonwealth Bank. Wren declined the invitation.

Biography/History

W.C. Wren was appointed General Manager of the English, Scottish and Australian Bank Ltd in 1909. He retired in 1933 after 62 years with the Bank.
