Ruth Rogers had a long association with the Adelaide Teachers College, starting her training in 1956. She went on to take up the position of Lecturer in Early Childhood Education. Rogers taught in junior primary schools at Rose Park, Nairn and Allenby Gardens. She held the following positions in the South Australian education sytem: Assistant Superintendendent of Primary Education (1970-1975); Assistant Director of Education in South Australia (1976-1985). Rogers had a long involvement with the World Education Fellowship. She is a Fellow and Medallist of the Australian College of Education.
