Margaret Murray is an Australian journalist who has lived in Paris since the early 1950s. She obtained employment firstly as an au pair, then began a long working association with compatriot Roland Pullen, Paris-based correspondent for the Melbourne Herald and the Sunday express.
Margaret Murray describes her experiences from the 1950s to the 1990s in journalistic and diplomatic circles in Paris. She describes her position as an au pair; recalls fellow journalists Roland Pullen and Sam White, and Australians Sam Ateo, Mitty-Lee Brown, Moya Daring and Dolores Walters, dancer at the Moulin Rouge; the popularity of Australian art, literature and cinema in France.
