Lance Riley, an elder of the Mona Mona Aboriginal Reserve and Indigenous separated child (b. 1942 Mona Mona Aboriginal Reserve, Qld). Riley was removed to the dormitories at Mona Mona Seventh Day Adventist Mission, Qld. at the age of 5. He describes the living conditions in the dormitories where he lived until he was sent out to work at the age of 14. Riley was later sent to Palm Island after leaving the cattle station where he worked without permission. He outlines the conditions on Palm Island. He eventually returned to live at Mona Mona until it was closed in 1962. Riley also expresses his views on the policy of removal.
