Trevor Allan, a former international rugby player, born 1926 in Bathurst, N.S.W. recalls his family background, generations of the family having resided in Bathurst; his family's move to Sydney in his early years and his progress through the ranks of school and city football; the war years (WWII) as a child in Sydney; his selection as a 19 year old to play for the Australian Wallabies (Rugby Union) tour of New Zealand in 1946; being appointed vice-captain but having to take on the position of captain of the Australian Wallabies tour of Great Britain, France and U.S.A. in 1947 and 1948; his association with the Gordon Rugby Football Club; the 1949 season, 3 rugby union tests against New Zealand; playing professional rugby league football in Great Britain with the Leigh/Lancashire Club in the early 1950s for 3 years; his continuing professional football career in Great Britain; upon his return to Sydney the balance of his playing career with North Sydney Rugby League.
