Loke's interests in travel, photography, sport, fine arts and ornithology are reflected in this carefully documented collection. Types of material include photographs, clippings albums, correspondence, diaries, obituaries, collected articles, notes, memos, speeches, lectures and souvenir programmes. Included in the collection are photographs taken by Dato Loke Wan Tho while on ornithological expeditions in Singapore, Malaysia, Finland and Sweden. Three copies of 'Warisan Loke', an exhibition catalogue published by Balai Seni Lukis Negara (the National Art Gallery of Malaysia) relating to photographs donated to that institution by Dato Loke Wan Tho.

Dato Loke Wan Tho was a Malaysian businessman and a patron of a number of sporting, photographic, art and architectural societies. He was a chairman of the Cathay Organisation (films), of Malaysian Airways, of the National Library Board (Malaysia) and director of a number of companies ranging from hotels and automobiles. He was educated in England and travelled extensively in many parts of the world.
