Captain R. Rallier du Baty, French navigator and explorer, won, together with his brother Henri, the Jean-Baptiste Morot Prize in 1911 for his voyage to the Kerguelen Islands, Indian Ocean, with J.B. Charcot in 1907. He also won the Herbert Fournet Prize in 1921 for a similar voyage in the ship La Curieuse, 1912-1914.
