Summary

Leo Wood, criminal lawyer, talks about his family background, education at a State school in Mount Lawley and then at two convent schools prior to attending St. Ildephonsus College in New Norcia as a boarder. He then tells how he entered the legal profession by joining the firm of Lavan, Walsh and Seaton in May 1932. Wood vividly describes Perth's legal scene from the 1930s to the 1980s, during which time the number of legal practitioners increased from around 110 to 2,500 and he provides a guided tour through the law firms of St George's Terrace, in the 1930s the hub of Perth's legal world.
