Captain Edgar Percival, former aviator and aircraft designer, speaks about his childhood; his inspiration to build a glider after Bleriot's flight over the English Channel in 1909; his friend Billy Hart and his monoplane; learning to fly in 1 1/2 hours; flying with the Royal Flying Corps during WWI; doing aerial photography; joy flights and charter flights from Sydney; acting in movies; other pioneer Australian aviators; early government regulations; moving to England in 1929; flight testing planes and flying boats; The Schneider Trophy Race; Igor Sikorsky; designing and developing amphibians and flying boats; the Percival Gull; turbo-supercharger aircraft engine development during WWII; his research and experimentation in America after WWII; and working with the New Zealand government to develop the use of aircraft in agriculture.
