Summary

Xiaoping, an artist, talks about learning to draw and paint; views on nature of art; exhibition of 20-25 paintings at Artists' Space in Fitzroy, Vic. and 1st visit to Australia in 1988. He then describes his meeting with Aboriginal artists and learning about the Aboriginal way of life and depicting this in his art. Xiaoping then talks about being artist-in-residence at Maningrida and teaching Aboriginal children; meeting Aboriginal artist Jimmy Pike in Broome and artist Peter Skip; acceptance by Aboriginal people; joint exhibition with Jimmy Pike in China and his plans for the future.
