Library's NK5009 copy is a presentation copy to Thomas Pennant, incribed "A gift of the author"; volume 1 has a copy of a 4 page manuscript letter (relocated MS 4214) to Thomas Pennant, signed by George Forster, and dated Cassel, 16 Feby 84: "... The occassion of my writing these lines is that I am going to quit Cassel, and remove to Wilna in Lithuania ...", added in; volume 2 has the prospectus for 'Observations during a voyage round the world' by John Reinold Forster bound in - "... calculated to serve as a Companion to Captain Cook's, or to George Forster's Account of the Voyage ..."; manuscript page cross references in pencil and ink in both volumes.

Library's Robinson copy half bound with green marbled boards; bears the bookplate of W. S. Robinson.

Library's FERG/7240 copy inscribed in pencil inside the front cover of volume 2, "This volume read 16 June 1899"; Angus & Robertson bookseller's label also pasted inside the front cover.

Library's NK1521 copy rebacked, mottled calf boards; bears the bookplate of Rex de C. Nan Kivell (no. 1777/2).

Library's NK4057 set has compainion third volume, 'Observations made during a voyage round the world, on physical geography, natural history, and ethic philosophy...' by John Reinold Forster; bears the bookplate of Rex de C. Nan Kivell (no. 1777/3).

Library's GMMq 910.4 FOR set half bound in green leather and marbled boards with gilt top edge and speckled fore and bottom edges.

Library's SRq COOK 19-20 set (formerly SRq1 910.4 C7771 P733 and RBq 910.4 F733) fully bound in leather with gilt decorations, marbled edges and fragments of former marbled endpapers pasted inside front covers; both volumes stamped, "Craig Maginnis" and "Commonwealth of Australia Library of Parliament 13 JUN 1903"; spine title: Forster's voyage round the world.

Library's SRq COOK 21-22 set (formerly SRq2 910.4 C771 F733 and RBq 910.4 F333) rebound, retaining burled leather from earlier binding with gilt decorations on volume 1; embossed throughout, "Board of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. 5th Ave. & 20th St, New York"; volume 1 bears the bookplate of the 'Constitutional Club: Library. The gift of the Right Honble Lord Colchester 1887'; spine title: Voyage round the world in H.M.S. Resolution 1772-1776.

Library's SRq COOK 50-51 set (formerly SRq/ef 910.4 C771 P486 and RBNq CAP 910.4 FOR) is from the complete green stamped Petherick set consisting of 11 titles including various editions of the three official accounts (B648, B1217, B1553); Parkinson (B714); Forster's Account (B1247), Observations (B1262) and Characteres (B1385); Observations by Wales (B719) and Bayly (B1287); Kippis (B32); Samwell (B1620) and atlas (B1553). The 15 v. texts and atlas with spine title: Cook's voyages. Each v. has a second spine title for the title of the work.
