Notes

Each issue has a distinctive title.

Some numbers are preceded by issues with title: Interim Australian standard.

Description based on: 1000, issued in 1970.

There are three series of Australian standards. The early series is based on the alphabetical classified sequence A-Z. Codes may also be prefixed by the letter C. The early series includes tentative Australian standards prepared by the Australian Commonwealth Engineering Standards Association. The alphabetical sequence was gradually superseded by the all-numerical series. From 2003 a decision was made by Standards Australia to keep the unique number that was assigned to the original publication.

Some later standards published jointly by the Standards Association of Australia and Standards New Zealand are published with the prefix AS/NZS.

AS/ACIF is now published by Communications Alliance Ltd as AS/CA.
