The manuscript is a copy from the original done by Alfred Purshouse Driver, 7 Sept. 1864. See the "Mariner's Mirror", Aug. 1964, H. E. Maude, "The Voyage of the Pandora's Tender', and a transcription of the text.
The first 25 pages are a narrative of the voyage of the Pandora's tender, and the last three tell of Renouard's second and final voyage.
Renouard's first voyage was on the "Pandora", which was commissioned at Chatham, 10 Aug., 1790, to find the mutineers of the Bounty. At Otaheite they captured some of the mutineers, and a boat they had built, which became the Pandora's tender, with nine men on board, including Renouard. The tender became separated from the Pandora near the Navigatores, and after many hardships the crew reached Batavia.
