- Has same numbering as another paper, the Hobart Town gazette, which started publication on 24 June 1825 as the official gazette, in opposition to Bent's paper, which was at that time called The Hobart Town gazette and Van Diemen's Land advertiser. The Hobart Town gazette used the same numbering as The Hobart Town gazette and Van Diemen's Land advertiser, and it continued this practice after Bent changed his title to Colonial times and Tasmanian advertiser.
