One folder of typescripts relating to the Cox family. Include a copy of a journal kept by George Cox (brother of William) on a journey from Bathurst to Mudgee in 1821 and copies of letters from George Cox to his son George Henry Cox of Mudgee dated 1816-1848 with explanatory notes by the compiler. Folder also contains a biographical essay on William Cox, notes on the Cox lineage and two letters discussing the Cox family history.

The Coxes were an early pastoral family in N.S.W. who owned land around Richmond and Windsor. William Cox, the first of the family to come to Australia was assigned by Governor Macquarie to the task of constructing the road over the Blue Mountains in 1814.
