Handwritten diary giving an account of a voyage from London to Melbourne on board 'The Emigrant' in 1853. Conditions of travel are discussed, e.g. food, weather and sickness and deaths on board. Contains tables of latitude and longitude of the journey and lists expenses and receipts dated Sept. 15, 1855. Also describes in some detail the journey to the McIvor diggings near Heathcote and then gives an account of Annison's life in Hobart where he spent some months working as a shipwright.
