Summary

1. Programmes and menus for official functions, 1906-1937. Includes dinners on the occasions of 1909 Premier's Conference, the visits of Viscount Kitchener in 1910 and the Duke of Gloucester in 1934, and the turning of the first sod of the Kalgoorlie to Port Augusta Railway, 1913. Also includes menus, details of arrangements and programme for the laying of the foundation stones and official naming of the federal capital, 12 March 1913, and the programme for the Canberra celebrations of the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, 1937. 2. Official and semi-official correspondence, 1908-1946. Correspondents include the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Norman Makin and parliamentary official R.A. Broinowski. 3. Personal correspondence, 1909-1967. 4. Miscellaneous papers, 1909-1966. Includes official documents, photographs and a manuscript entitled "Looking back over 47 years on the parliamentary staff".

Biography/History

Appointed to the staff of the Commonwealth Parliament in Melbourne on 1 May 1901. Served in Canberra as Housekeeper, Parliament House, until ca. 1947.
