MS 4665 consists of correspondence between the editors of Art and Australia, including Mervyn Horton, and contributors to the journal, 1964-1969, as well as original manuscripts of the articles submitted for publication, invitations, catalogues, news releases, photographs, reviews, and other records. Correspondents include George Washington Lambert, Lloyd Rees, John Brack, Russell Drysdale, Hal Missingham and Sidney Nolan.
The Acc00.011 instalment comprises further Art and Australia magazine records.

Art and Australia was founded by Mervyn Horton in 1962 and edited by Horton until his death in 1983. The magazine has been instrumental in promoting Australian art and artists.
