- Summary:

Declaration in honour of St. Francis Xavier. This priest worked actively in the area of Sancian Island South China, where Francis Xavier died in 1552. Father Cairns was last heard of in late 1941, when reports reached Macao that he had been killed by the Japanese. The picture shown of the Saints death in 1551 is a reproduction of the original which used to be in St Joseph's College Macao. The original has disintergrated completely so the picture shown does have some value.
