MS 111 comprises a promissory note for ??.38.10.0 sterling payable to Messrs. Kemp & Gatehouse, signed by J[acob] Mountgarrett at Hobart Town, Van Dieman's Land, and dated 3 August, 1819. Overwritten in brown ink 'exhibited as evidence before the Lieutenant Governor on 30 October, 1820 in the case of Kemp v. Mountgarrett'. The collection also includes the promissory note for ??.23.0.3 sterling signed by Richard Larsom, dated 7 August, 1819, which was exhibited as evidence before the Lieutenant Governor on 20 October, 1820 in the case of Lewis v. Larson (1 folder).
