Summary

Connie Tabone, a Maltese Australian, speaking about her work experiences after leaving her parents' home in 1944 and her marriage at Parramatta that year; Vince Tabone speaks about his family background on Gozo; his father's emigration to Australia in 1914; siblings; father's work around Australia; emigration of the rest of the family 25 years later in 1938; Vince's work in Malta; special classes attended prior to emigration in 1938; emigration procedures; memories of voyage on the 'Remo' in 1938; father's return to Malta in 1948 to marry again; father's return to Sydney circa 1950 with new wife; death of father in 1969; Vince's marriage to Connie in 1944; highlights of their life together. Dolores, their daughter, speaks about the family; Connie, speaks about the family and obtaining her driver's license in 1938; Vince remembers swag men on the Western Highway during the Depression; the local street named after him; grandchildren and Maltese identity within the family.
