Folkloric recording.
Ted Wenke sings German Christmas songs and talks of his mixed ethnic background of Latvian and Wendish descent. Wenke recounts his Wendish background, how he had been raised to speak German, his grandparents spoke Latvian but had been born in Saxony as Wendts in upper Luscasia, how they immigrated to South Australia, but his father was later born at Ginderra on their trek through New South Wales, that the Wendish language has completed died out with only German and Latvian surviving, how he had assisted in Sunday school in the Lutheran Church delivered the services and hymns in German.
