Summary

1. A manuscript journal of a voyage from London to Melbourne, 5 May-22 October 1849 on the emigrant ship, John Munn entitled : Journal of a voyage from London to Melbourne in Australia Felix 1849. 2. Four pamphlets by Trollope : A pastoral address to the inhabitants of Green-Ponds and the adjoining district. Green-Ponds, V.D.L. 1853 ; A sermon preached in the parish church of St Mary, Green Pond on Easter Monday, 28th March, 1853 ... Tasmania, 1853 ; Two sermans preached in the church of St Mary's, Green Ponds, on the Sunday after Christmas 1855, and the Feast of the Epiphany 1856. Hobart Town, 1856 and The Roman Catholics of Port Phillip and their champion : a parting word on Tridentine Romanism. Melbourne, 1850. 3. A copy of the Hobart Town Advertiser, 19 March 1852, which includes an advertisement for a school at Oatlands run by Trollope.

Biography/History

Rev. William Trollope, uncle of Anthony Trollope, came to Australia in 1849. He was formerly a Classics Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge and he founded a school at Oatlands, Tasmania in 1852. He also wrote several religious pamphlets
