Publication for children that deals exclusively with Australia. The author reports about Cook's voyages and then about the founding of the colony in Port Jackson, the life of the aborigines, fauna and flora.

The engraving depicts the landing of a rowboat from the English fleet, whilst the aboriginal Australians fish or hold spears. Vignette shows a lyrebird and a wombat.
