Betty Lucas, born in Coogee, N.S.W. recalls her family background; working as a secretary at AWA in the early years of WWII where she met a lot of actors doing radio work; joining a theatre group called the Modern Theatre Players, Sydney; pre war years of Sydney theatre in the 1920-1930s; the post war London theatre scene; the emergence of a new native Australian theatre; her husband's writing career, including Australian television series, My names McGooley what's your's; her work in later years with the Sydney Theatre Company and The Ensemble; her film and television work; her work with the Actors Forum.
